NewGrid Ships Mindspeed(R) Comcerto(TM) VoIP Processor in IMS Gateway; NewGrid NGTG IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Gateway Selected for Deployment into Next-Generation W-CDMA Network in Japan

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. –July 11, 2006– Mindspeed Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:MSPD), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, today announced that NewGrid Technology Inc. is shipping Mindspeed’s Comcerto voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) processor in its NGTG IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) gateway for wireline VoIP and W-CDMA voice applications. The NewGrid NGTG is currently being deployed through its OEM partner in Japan into a next-generation IP-based W-CDMA network.
