LONDON—LignUp Corporation, a leading provider of converged communications solutions, today announced the European launch of FastLign, an industry alliance founded to accelerate the adoption of IP telephony services. Alliance partners provide a fully integrated telephony services architecture, turnkey hosted applications and regional partners to operate and fully support FastLign managed services. TeliaSonera International Carrier and the United Kingdom’s Streamdoor Limited will extend FastLign’s reach into Europe, enabling the market’s numerous emerging service providers to rapidly and cost-effectively deliver hosted telephony services.

“In the past, IP telephony services have been prohibitively time consuming and expensive to build, deploy and manage,” said Johan Andersson, VP and head of Marketing, Strategy and New Busness at TeliaSonera International Carrier. “Service providers must build these services from the ground up, integrating a wide variety of technologies and services to provide a complete services solution. FastLign provides service providers with a hosted telephony services model that removes system integration cycles, provides operations support and allows customers to address the needs of the marketplace.”

Cost-Effective, Managed Services

Streamdoor, a provider of hosted on-demand contact center applications and VoIP communication services, will provide FastLign’s operational backbone and datacenter capacity, managed telephony services support and maintenance and the critical function of providing mediated access to the TeliaSonera International Carrier network. FastLign service providers need not develop organizational competencies in the construction and operation of hosted services. Streamdoor and TeliaSonera will make it possible for FastLign customers to access infrastructure, technical expertise and world-class network capabilities that smaller service providers would ordinarily rarely be able to afford.

Reduced Time to Market, Integration Costs

FastLign’s reference architecture provides essential components for delivering hosted telephony services. Leading industry solutions such as NexTone Communications’ Multiprotocol Session Controller (MSC) are fully integrated and proven interoperable with the LignUp Communications Platform and other FastLign partner solutions. FastLign service providers thereby bypass component evaluation, integration and testing stages of implementation, essentially reducing the time to market for these services.

“Experience teaches us that hosted telephony providers face a number of significant barriers to market entry,” said Jon Keattch, founder and CEO at Streamdoor. “FastLign removes many of the burdens of building and managing these services, while also providing the turnkey applications and development capabilities necessary to speed services to market and compete through innovation and differentiation. We are pleased to join TeliaSonera and LignUp to bring FastLign to Europe.”

Innovate to Differentiate

FastLign’s licensing model brings the best benefits of ownership to a managed services model, allowing providers to fully modify and customize their services to address the specific needs of their customers. FastLign providers can speed their telephony services offerings to market by easily modifying and deploying a variety of turnkey applications from LignUp and other FastLign partners. This provides the capability to deliver an ongoing flow of new hosted services, increasing service competitiveness and avoiding the threat of commoditization.

“Hosted VoIP service providers “must have solutions to the challenges of infrastructure investments, related integration and interoperability struggles, and hosted application development costs,” said Richard Kirk, vice president of LignUp EMEA. “Furthermore, once services are up and running, providers need flexible platforms for developing services that differentiate them in the marketplace. We are proud to work within this field of industry leaders to help next generation service providers speed their offerings to market, and extend the adoption of LignUp’s flexible platform for easy development, enhancement, and differentiation of VoIP services
TeliaSonera will promote the FastLign offering to its global customer base, including its Internet service provider customers. FastLign managed services will become generally available in Europe by June 2006.

Consumer VoIP shows great potential as it provides a cheap phone service, allows consumers to listen to their voicemail over their PC, schedule times when they cannot be reached, and get a phone number in an area code different from where they live.

According to this report, for <a title="VoIP Become Popular"href="http://www.voip.value-guides.com/advantages.php">VoIP to continue growth in 2006, it must leverage value-added services rather than remaining as another mechanism to deliver cheap telephony. Providers must resist pursuing convergence for technology reasons alone. To succeed, the new mobile/fixed quadruple-play strategies must address consumers’ needs, and complement existing services with clear new benefits.

The real power of VoIP over the long term is that any device with an Internet connection can now be voice-enabled. It is believed that propositions marketed to customers revolve around value, instead of the enhanced features which VoIP may offer. Because of the importance of PSTN calling, the value proposition currently equates to bundles of fixed local or national PSTN calls, rather than free VoIP-to-VoIP calling irrespective of distance.

The author foresees the following trends unravelling in 2006:

Leading device makers will not try to replace the phone by embedding voice into devices like TVs and appliances. Instead, they will try to enhance their devices with voice.

VoIP browsing and chat will change how customer service questions get answered

In areas where cell coverage is limited, such as planes, telcos will use a combination of VoIP and Wi-Fi to support telephony and conferencing services.

Worldwide cable telephony service revenues rose from $4.5 billion in 2004 to $5.6 billion in 2005, and are projected to reach $10 billion by 2009. The widening availability of VoIP-based cable telephony services has resulted in thousands of new cable telephony subscribers for operators like Time Warner Cable and Cablevision in the United States, Videotron and Shaw Communications in Canada, and Liberty Global in Europe. The high-tech market research firm also notes that <a title="Use VoIP Now!"href="http://www.voip.value-guides.com/pcphone.php">VoIP is increasingly becoming the technology of choice for cable operators.

The key attraction for cable operators is the cost advantage that VoIP offers in comparison with circuit-switched service. Based on our analysis, it costs between 17% and 25% less to provision a VoIP cable telephony subscriber than a traditional circuit-switched cable telephony subscriber.

This recent report found the following:

– VoIP-based cable telephony is having a big impact in the U.S. Fuelled by Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Cablevision, the author projects that US cable telephony subscriber households will reach 4.4 million by the end of 2006.

– Total worldwide VoIP cable telephony subscriber households are expected to reach almost 7 million by year-end 2006.

– US cable operators are beginning to look beyond wired cable telephony services to the wireless world. In November 2005, several leading cable operators announced an agreement with Sprint Nextel to develop a wireless telephony option for cable TV subscribers.

This Market report covers the market for cable telephony services around the world. It discusses the business case for provisioning cable telephony services, looks closely at the transition from circuit-switched services to VoIP, and breaks down cable telephony’s cost structure by specific network architecture. It also provides forecasts for worldwide subscribers, VoIP subscribers, and installed cable telephony lines through 2009 and forecasts service revenues and “Voice-over-Broadband” subscribers over the next five years.

GAITHERSBURG, Md.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–BroadSoft Inc, the leading provider of VoIP application software, announced that Evoxus, an integrated services provider based in Reading, Berkshire, has launched services for the multisite enterprise market in the UK over the BroadWorks VoIP application platform.

Evoxus delivers integrated voice and data applications to enterprises in a broad range of markets including the retail, financial services and travel sectors. These customers do business at a fast pace, and need to be able to cascade information instantly throughout their organization 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The BroadWorks platform gives Evoxus this throughout the enterprise, over multiple sites, instantaneously bringing voice, data, video and business applications together at the desktop

The enterprise administrators can control calling features for an entire department or a specific individual through the web-based portal, and add, change or move users quickly and at a fraction of the current cost to meet requirements of the organization.

“Rather than being a slave to the phone, the phone becomes slave to the employee,” explained Mark Lower, chief executive office of Evoxus. “With BroadSoft’s VoIP application software, we are able to take an enterprise into the new world of IP, by making IP telephony work within their current environment. The flexibility of the BroadWorks platform makes that possible.”

“Evoxus offers creative services that enterprises use to improve the productivity and effectiveness throughout their organizations, even across different stores or sites, for example,” said Michael Tessler, chief executive officer for BroadSoft. “The Evoxus team combines flexible solutions with strong integration capabilities to deliver the best VoIP communication services to their customers.”

BroadSoft, with 6 of the top 10 global service providers as customers, offers an IMS-compliant VoIP application platform that can scale to meet the needs of regional VoIP service providers as well as the leading worldwide carriers.

InTechnology, based in Harrogate, United Kingdom, acted as the system integrator for Evoxus’ deployment of the BroadWorks VoIP application platform.
About Evoxus

Evoxus takes a different approach in that it delivers integrated solutions via a managed service capability. It hosts the technology in its network which means that organizations do not have to invest in capital equipment or hire specialist people to make it work.

The company operates out of two main locations - Reading and London’s Docklands interconnecting via two carrier grade soft switches. It employs 70 people.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–GlobeTel Communications Corp. (AMEX:GTE) today announced that its GlobeTel Wireless subsidiary has entered into a binding agreement to install wireless communications networks in 30 cities throughout the Russian Federation, providing broadband, VOIP and DECt technologies.

GlobeTel Wireless has entered into an agreement with LLC Internafta (”Internafta”) of Moscow, Russia, whereby Internafta will pay to GlobeTel Wireless a series of four construction payments totaling US$600 million for the installation of an array of proprietary networks to be installed in Russia’s 30 largest cities, starting with Moscow and St. Petersburg. GlobeTel Wireless will both manage the completed network and will retain an ongoing 50% shareholding in the operations of the network, allowing the Company to enjoy the significant benefits of the recurring revenue stream. GlobeTel plans to roll out the network in 3 stages, comprising 10 cities each, over the next 27 months.

Over the past six months, GlobeTel has had a number of key meetings with officials at various levels of the Russian Government, including senior members of the Russian Parliament (the “Duma”) and various branches of the Russian telecommunications and technology establishment. In early October, following months of preliminary discussions, GlobeTel CEO Timothy Huff - along with GlobeTel Wireless President, Uli Altvater and Sanswire President Bob Jones - demonstrated a working version of the HotZone 4010 equipment that will form the backbone of the new 30-city network. At that demonstration, the HotZone 4010 system successfully provided internet and DECT phone connectivity inside the Duma Building, quickly establishing its capabilities and ease of use. Largely upon the strength of that presentation, GlobeTel immediately entered in substantive negotiations with a group of prominent Russian investors for the implementation of the network which has resulted in today’s agreement.

“It is beyond exciting to be able to bring this level of connectivity to Russia,” said GlobeTel CEO Tim Huff. “Russia will, quickly and at a relatively modest cost, have a wireless infrastructure that will rival any in the industrialized world. This presents an amazing opportunity for us, for Russia and for our Russian partners. The Russian Internet market is severely limited by a lack of infrastructure and by the high cost to individual users of obtaining high speed internet access, even in those relatively rare cases where it is available. The GlobeTel Wireless network will provide city-wide high speed, wireless connectivity with the ability to provide voice-over IP telephony along with residential and business-based DECt service. DECt technology, particularly in conjunction with <a title="Understanding Voice Over IP"' href="http://voip.value-guides.com/voiceover.php">low-cost VoIP service, is the key to delivering highly affordable wireless telephone and broadband access to areas with limited or high cost service.”

“Completely apart from the obvious economic rewards associated with an investment in this exciting new communications technology, we are most proud of the social, educational and community benefits that we are able to facilitate as part of the dramatic quality-of-life attributes which are rapidly emerging throughout the Russian Federation,” stated Maxim Chernizov, one of the Founding Principals of Internafta. “This initial step with GlobeTel - along with other very significant technology breakthroughs to follow - will prove to be significant for all of us in the relatively near-term,” he continued.

Uli Altvater, President of GlobeTel Wireless stated: “This is a very large undertaking that will utilize the skills or more than 1,000 people in Russia, Europe and the United States. This transaction will catapult GlobeTel to a position as one of the top two suppliers and operators of wireless networks in the world.”

About GlobeTel Communications Corp.

GlobeTel is a diversified, global Telecommunications and Financial Services Company. GlobeTel operates business units in: (i) Stored Value & Remittance Cards as a MasterCard certified processor; (ii) VoIP Carrier-grade, Long-distance Services to major long-distance companies; (iii) VoIP development, technology and equipment manufacturing; (iv) advanced WiMax services utilizing GlobeTel’s proprietary “HotZone” technology; and (v) the development, manufacturing, marketing and provision of near-space platforms known as Stratellites, which will soon seamlessly integrate all of GlobeTel’s communications and financial services technologies around the world.

AirGATE Develops VoIP System for Inmate Telephones

DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AirGATE Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the X-Change Corporation (OTCBB:XCHC), has developed a VoIP add-on module for telephones in correctional facilities. Inmates make over 1,000,000 collect phone calls per day, and VoIP can provide greater efficiency and reduce costs.

Existing inmate telephones are not equipped with VoIP capability. Replacing the phones completely with VoIP enabled phone sets can be costly. AirGATE provides a cost effective way to upgrade these installed phones with VoIP modules. These modules come in two different versions: wired and wireless. Both of these modules are add-on units. The wired module requires power-over-Ethernet (POE) and the wireless module requires a power line capable of providing voltage and current to the units. The VoIP enabled telephones allow calls to be routed over local area networks and the Internet.

In addition to VoIP for inmate telephones, AirGATE has developed an inmate identification system for collect calls using radio frequency identification (RFID) enabled wristbands. AirGATE plans to test the system for ninety days at the Franklin County correctional facility in Mt. Vernon, Texas. AirGATE will market its VoIP and inmate identification systems through established telephone service providers. AirGATE will receive a portion of collect call charges for use of its technology.

About AirGATE Technologies

AirGATE Technologies, Inc. is an early-stage company specializing in radio frequency identification (RFID) and wireless, intelligent, sensor technology. As a full-solution company, AirGATE Technologies handles business assessment, process and technology blending, solution architecture, technology selection, including proprietary AirGATE technology, and integration and support. The Company has, in an environment of technology cost compression, built a stable of technology partners that are best in class and span a wide range of solutions to support small, medium and large enterprises.
After just a few days of trial operation, over 200 marketers signed up for the service. It has been estimated by Network Marketing News that over fifteen thousand (15,000) of its members will sign up for the service within the next 6 months. The Company believes that the billing per customer will average $240 per annum.

Mr. Anastasios Takis Kyriakides, Chairman of Interlink, in describing the operation stated: “We are quite pleased to have Network Marketing News as an outlet for our VOIP products and services. We were approached by Network Marketing to be their product supplier because of recommendations provided by well-known VOIP equipment suppliers, who felt that our products and services were ideal for a multi-level organization. This business fits our declared business model of aligning ourselves with established MLM structures to reach the residential market. This relationship, like the others we have announced in the residential market are structured so that Interlink’s joint venture partner bears the marketing and customer service costs, therefore limiting our financial exposure.”

Mr. Kenneth Hosfeld, Interlink’s executive vice president of sales, stated that: “The MLM organization is the ideal model to reach the greatest number of individual customers in the shortest amount of time while, at the same time, not spending yourself out of existence on marketing and other promotions. The end user clients are ideal, as well, because of the ability that our systems have to add value into their existing operational management software platforms. We have already received dozens of calls from the initial group of users praising the benefits that this adds to the user’s business, as well as productivity improvement.” Mr. Hosfeld further stated, “At the point that we are servicing up to 50,000 users, we expect to generate approximately $1,000,000 in gross revenues on a monthly basis. We are also very pleased to work with such a professional group as Network Marketing News.”

Mr. Stephan Gardner, Vice President of Business Development for Interlink, stated that: “We are very pleased about the implementation of this new product developed together with Network Marketing News as they bring the expertise that is needed to compliment our own internally developed MLM computer based tools. We have already begun to see wide spread acceptance of the VOIP calling platform. By this integration with proven software, the users are able to greatly increase their own efficiency, which is critical in any home business environment. While the VOIP services and product now inherent in our system are beginning to gain traction, we expect to see even greater acceptance and use when the predictive dialer portion of the system is added. The prediction of a minimum of 15,000 users over the next six months, could expand to reach as high as 100,000 users within the next 8 to 10 months. We view it as quite fortunate that we are able to team with a company as professional as Network Marketing News.”
