NewMarket Technology Inc. Goes Live with Wireless VoIP Business Solution; Telephone Service Delivered across Municipal Broadband Network
NewMarket Affiliates RedMoon Inc. and Xiptel Combine Forces to Deliver First Production Wireless VoIP Business Solution
NewMarket Technology Inc. (OTCBB:NMKT) today announced launching its first Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) business service solution delivered via a broadband wireless network. The Company has implemented the wireless VoIP solution in its Dallas, Texas headquarters and plans to demonstrate the home office solution to prospective clients. The wireless VoIP solution is an exceptionally efficient telephone solution combining the savings of both a VoIP service and a wireless final mile connection. NewMarket anticipates its wireless VoIP solution will accelerate telephone service sales growth to the small and medium business market. This will provide an ideal solution for the initial implementation of telephone service in developing economic regions globally that have not had telephone service previously available.
The wireless VoIP solution represents the combined services of NewMarket affiliates RedMoon Inc. and Xiptel. NewMarket currently owns a 25% stake in RedMoon Inc. The wireless VoIP solution is delivered across RedMoon’s city-wide mesh network installed last year for the City of Addison, Texas. The City of Addison not only utilizes the city-wide mesh network for vital municipal services, but also enables the RedMoon managed service to be available on a subscription basis to its 100,000 plus citizens and daily visitors. Addison has implemented one of the nation’s first city-wide mesh networks where broadband access is available virtually anywhere in the city, from parks to restaurants to businesses (www.moonoveraddison.com). Addison is a model for the modern connected city.
Xiptel is a NewMarket subsidiary. The wireless VoIP solution is delivered through Xiptel’s turnkey VoIP service offering. Xiptel was launched in 2003 and has grown from a start-up to almost $10 million in annualized revenue. Xiptel posted its first profit in the last reported quarterly period. Xiptel provides business VoIP solutions beginning at $14.95 per month (www.xiptel.com).
“Per capita income varies directly with per capita communications,” said Philip Verges, CEO of NewMarket Technology. “Wireless VoIP is a very cost effective telephone service solution and we expect it to sell well in North America where wireless mesh networks become available. Wireless VoIP is the telephone service solution for the masses and will enable developing economic countries and regions that have never had access to telephone service to rapidly increase per capita communications. We have been simultaneously developing a sales infrastructure and refining our emerging communication technology solutions. We anticipate over $20 million in sales respectively from each of our existing operations in Latin America and Asia before the introduction of a wireless VoIP solution. The successful implementation of a wireless VoIP solution in Dallas is significant in moving us one step closer to a long-term objective of providing solutions to developing countries while building profitability for NewMarket.”
